Daedalus 11.3.0
Daedalus 11.3.0 is out, and Daedalus support has moved to SE7EN Labs. Every in-app help link now points at their new Ariadne portal — worth bookmarking daedalus.support.se7enlabs.com before you need it. Lace support stays on Zendesk.
It’s good to see Daedalus continuing to evolve, and we see an ongoing place in the ecosystem for a full node wallet. Our favourite improvement is the inclusion of Mithril, which SPOs have been running for about three years. Instead of replaying the chain from genesis, the wallet restores from a Mithril-certified snapshot, verified against a certificate chain anchored in Cardano’s own stake distribution — the same trust guarantee as a full replay, without the days of waiting. The version 11 line extends that to existing installations, not only fresh ones.
We have tested it. Sync is much faster, and memory requirements have come down with the on-disk UTxO backend. If you have kept away from Daedalus because coming back after a few months meant leaving a laptop running overnight, that is no longer the case.
P.S. A full node wallet remains the decentralised option — you verify the chain yourself rather than trusting anyone else’s view of it.
